The 7112 feet height BHAGSUNATH or BHAGSUNAG waterfall is one of the best picnic spots which is adored by thousands of tourists every year. This pristine waterfall is situated at a distance of 3 km ’s from Mcleodganj and 7 km’s from Dharamshala. The waterfall is considered to be a holy as it is located near BHAGSUNATH temple in Bhagsu village of Mcleodganj(Himachal Pradesh). the Bhagsunath temple is situated at an altitude of 1770 meters is a holy and sacred shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. It was built in the early 19th century by the 1st Gurkha Rifles. The shrine is highly treasured by the Hindus and the Gurkha communities. It attracts numerous pilgrims and devotees every year who believes in the healing property of this temple. The ambiance of this temple is very tranquil and calm which will definitely fill your soul with devotional and spiritual vibes. The best time to visit the temple in September as the annual fair is held every year in this month. Behind the temple, the majestic bhagsunag waterfall is situated at an altitude of 2160 meters. It is 1 km trek from the temple, which is accessible only by foot. One has to climb half the hill to reach this magnificent waterfall. You can enjoy the scenic and panoramic view while trekking if are an avid nature lover, But one has to be ultra careful while trekking because it can be bit slippery and tricky sometimes . when you reach the waterfalls, all the panting and huffing will seem worth it.
